Folks -

The post about the vacuum sealers reminded me that I need to buy a deli slicer.  Pit beef on my rotisserie just can't be done without one.  I was looking at a stainless steel model from Rival.  I don't want to spend too much as the pro models run in the high hundreds but do want to get a quality appliance.  Can anyone recommend a slicer?

I thought I would post back to say that I just bought a professional slicer on the only site to find stuff like this, eBay.  Without even having received it yet, I can tell this is what you want to get if you need to slice meats or cheeses like a pro.  There's really no way, at least for me, I was going to do a top round on my rotisserie for pit beef this summer without a slicer.  Rival is a top maker of appliances and today, like everything else, their current slicers are plastic.  The model I got is all metal or chrome and is hefty and looks well made.  These models are maybe 20 years old now and unfortunately, no longer available brand new at least not from Rival.  Mine comes with 5 different blades which is a true find.  No other sellers of these on eBay had an assortment of blades and the blades are not available anywhere else. 

For those interested in picking up one of these quality slicers , check out eBay and type in Rival slicers.  Many are selling for under $40.00.

I will be getting my rig ready to go outfitted with rotisserie and will let you know how the meat and the slicer turned out.
