I have recently installed a box on the side of my grill and i am having a hard time getting the temp up past 200  can some one help out the rookie

Sorry I missed this.. I hope everything turned out ok..

The key is air, and getting that air to your fire. So make sure your vents are open, and you have room underneath the charcoal grate for air to get to it. Otherwise ash will choke your fire.
